About Marx Rehburg

Marx Rehburg Illusion may come, From the Art you see. The creations I draw, Come from others Reality. My pictures are real, They come from my heart. Observe what You want, From my wondrous works of Art.
I am mostly a self taught artist. My family says my Mother taught me to draw before I could even walk. Mom was the most creative person I have ever known. She showed me everything from the basics to the beauty and complexity of the human figure. I also have a degree as an architectural draftsman, both by hand on a board and with AutoCad. I enjoyed my time as hand draftsman much more than the latter. I worked in the construction trades for almost fifteen years before an accident forced me out of that career. I have spent the last twenty or so years devoted to my true calling, art. I love to try any and all new mediums I can. I am a muralist at heart, if my body allows, I've created many. My first was at my high school in Auburn, Wa. I've also created several in the Cape Coral area of Fla. Most recently at the "Country Club Market" on Pentz Rd. at Stearns in Paradise, Ca. I donated it to the town as my effort to help our economy through art. I create on every and any surface I can, from burlap to linen table cloths. I've stretched my own materials from rolled canvas to old bed sheets. To me there is no limits to what defines creativity. I have had several pieces in our local papers annual "Art and Letters" contest. I have also won several college grants for both my work as an artist and an author. I've won awards at both the Jerome Co. Fair as well as the Twin Falls Art Show. I have also placed in the Feather Fiesta Days, in Orroville, Ca. I enjoy many different subject matter, from landscape waterfalls, to portraiture, and architectural representations. I like to "study" a subject matter working from charcoal & pencil to watercolor and acrylics. I am still shy as to oils. I like to say "If I can see it, I can paint it." I've even taken several photos and combined them to create a new scene or even added a person that was unable to be in the original. And hand crafted portraits are always so much more enjoyable to look upon. I study the masters as much as I can, though I may not create as they would have.
